Our meetings go best when:

I'm told not only the bullet point agenda items but any responsibility for me to weigh in or report/present, and who will be hearing it. Will I be asked questions?

We minimize the objectives to the core: What's the ask here and what's the deadline? What are the dependencies?

Meetings go long and get offtrack when members try to relay their experience with an issue and how they felt about it. And especially when they get repetitive. Be succinct and trust if you are, the audience will be paying attention and hear you the first time. Just give us the pros and cons and projected outcomes.

I definitely prefer round robin style. I don't like to lead meetings so much as listen, but I'm fairly good at handling the talking stick element of conducting the meeting.

I always volunteer to take minutes and post them because they should be available for later reference, not just for those who missed the meeting but also for those who did but forgot what was said. Audio recordings are also good but they do not replace searchable text and bullet points of good minutes.

Our team is also big on work-backs: who needs to review a doc on which days so it arrives polished by its intended deadline.
