In response to "isn't pixie's sweet new ride hydrogen? -- nm" by amanda

FCEV babeee. i have (near) zero concerns about tank or station ruptures. H2's been in regular use here in CA for 10+ years with no incidents i'm aware

of.

yes there are inefficiencies in hydrogen as a fuel generally but that was also true of BEVs at similar stages in that product lifecycle. everything i've seen thus far indicates that production of consumer-grade H2 is getting greener and cheaper and the fuel cell stacks will also become more efficient if manufacturers don't abandon the platform (which is really the bigger concern at the moment). the main challenge from a car design problem is the fuel tank size. i don't know if there's an easy fix to that one but Honda did improve it from generation one of the Clarity to my second gen model.

other than supply chain issues with keeping the H2 stations full and operational, my experience driving around town for six months, lightly, is it's functionally equivalent to owning an ICE vehicle and preferable to having a BEV for me because of range issues if i wanted to drive over longer distances, as well as not having a charging station available at my apartment
