my old neighbor used to tell us how she didn't have to worry about going blind, if it got too bad she had this insurance coverage she had been paying for at least a couple decades.
so finally she's hospitalized and in a nursing home and no matter what her daughters do nothing seems to qualify, even hiring the nurse that ran the ward she was staying at. And her daughter was good with contracts, she dealt with lighting and electrical supplies and did construction contracts daily.
finally there's a consumer reporter story about how this was a f....ing scam, they had been collecting from people for years and they just brush them off, when they're at their most vulnerable they have no resources to fight in court...finally court cases were stacking up and they just declared bankrupcy and disappeared.
i heard there were a few health insurance plans that worked like that, but the home care plan is diabolical cause it took decades before too many people needed it and it wasn't there.
