I've had a few of these. Zurich-Toronto rerouted to Halifax, Auckland-Melbourne rerouted to Canberra.

in Canberra we landed on a day where they normally don't get international flights, so for vague regulatory reasons we weren't even allowed to approach the terminal. just sat on the ground until we could refuel and leave.
oh, and Beijing-Singapore that circled in a holding pattern over Beijing for like 3 hours after takeoff, then didn't have enough fuel so had to land in Shanghai to refuel. that one worked out better for me, because the useless travel agent had me routed Beijing-Singapore-Melbourne-Perth, and with the delay I just got on a Singapore-Perth flight and got home like 6 hours earlier.
