So, an update to my theory test from Wednesday...

First off, thank you to everyone who did subscribe. If you'd like to unsubscribe, I understand and you're free to do so now.

So, the theory was that if I could just get a couple of people to subscribe to the podcast, it could jump up the Apple Podcast charts for its genre (Film History) even if no one actually listened to an episode.

And as it turned out... it did!

In one day, thanks to eight new subscribers on Wednesday, we jumped from <250 to 37.

In one day.

Today, since we got no new subscribers yesterday, we fell to 41.

So it turns out that listens aren't as important as subscriber engagement.

If you have a podcast, now you know how to climb the Apple Podcasts charts ethically, as long as you don't actually bribe anyone. :)
