he should probably hope that Li-ion isn’t the new oil, for customers’ sake at the least, but also my understanding is solid state batteries

not dependent on rare metals and with better capacities all around are actually the future of BEV tech (though less clear how soon to market solid state will actually be)
but generally sounds like Elon saying something profoundly dumb that he thinks is Sheer Genius
