I can see one reason for it, which would be unification matches happen as soon as the injured champ is cleared.

That would have to be a philosophical thing with Khan believing that there shouldn't be two healthy people with the same belt.
Or he could have had a planned title match at the ppv and thinks he can still get there in 2 weeks.
