uploading my PS4 save of FF7 Remake to the cloud didn't work because it's not the PS5 save of FF7 Remake.
Instead, what I apparently have to do -- and I won't know for sure for another three hours -- is:
1) Upload my PS4 save of FF7 to the cloud
2) Download a copy of FF7 for PS4 (*NOT* PS5) to my PS5 (!)
3) Start the PS4 version of FF7 on my PS5
4) Download the PS4 version of FF7 stored to the cloud from my actual PS4...on my PS4 version of FF7 on my PS5
5) Upload *that* version to a PS5 depository that might exist solely for this purpose
6) Close my PS4 version of FF7 on my PS5
7) Open my PS5 version of FF7 on my PS5
8) Download the cloud save of the FF7 for PS4 from my actual PS4 that was then uploaded to my PS5-masquerading-as-a-PS4
9a) Hope for the best
OR
9b) Pray for death
We've had this system since 2 PM. We have only used it for about 90 minutes. According to my Error History, I'm already up to 10.
Errors include: E2-0002005C, NW-102260-1 (caused because you apparently can't be on the Playstation Network with a PS4 and PS5 simultaneously), CE-116829-7, CE-113230-0, and CE-106449-4.
We added an XBox Series S to the bedroom the other day. I backed up everything from my XBox Series X to it in about, oh, an hour and 15 minutes.
Sony fucking sucks. It's objective truth from my perspective.
