Travel questions. On my trip to Geneva in September, I have to connect through Paris. For various reasons it was way cheaper to buy a round trip

ticket from Chicago to Paris and a round trip ticket from Paris to Geneva. What that means though, is when I get to Paris on the way there, I have to get my luggage, go through immigration, check the luggage again and go through security. My current flight leaves almost 4 hours of layover. Enough time? To push it back about 2.5 hours will cost an extra $250/ticket. Is it worth it to get more leeway? I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm annoyed by the extra cost. Thoughts?
