Maybe I’m missing the message and I’m too tired to read, but…

A Korean song gangnam Style is one of the biggest hits of the 21st century and K-Pop bands are all the rage. To say nothing of the fact that a Korean movie won Best Picture a couple of years ago (to say nothing of a movie about deaf people winning last year).
Marvel has a superhero of Pakistani descent with a TV show that features Pakistani pop and rap predominantly.
Some of the best drama on TV is happening right now.
Hindi movies are playing more and more frequently in U.S. theaters, to say nothing of Chinese movies.
Nigeria has a thriving - and growing - cinema industry.
We’re seeing a lot more diversity and that means a lot more cultural variety. Subsequently pop culture is becoming a lot more segmented and fragmented as opposed to how homogenized it was for most of the latter half of the 20th century.
But I can’t speak to art or literature, though. So maybe I’m wrong about it all.
