I've been lobbying for this for four years. Finally got the letter from HR this morning.

My positioning has been reclassified. I've been at my salary cap for years. I had max'd out my old position but I felt I was doing many more duties than my position described and I wanted my role changed. My previous supervisor never understood what I did and thus never went to bat for me. Once I got moved to another supervisor, my potential was noticed (wherein the executive director asked "What'd you guys do to Raul?" and my supervisor answered "We let him out of his cage.") Then the process of changing my position got underway in earnest. But it still required constant pestering and haranguing (things don't get done unless you keep moving the ball forward yourself).
I've now been re-classified. Apparently, re-classifications come with an instant 5% raise. And September is also my annual performance evaluation, which means I may be due for another raise soon. I may be capping out again sooner rather than later.
