sometimes clients be crazy. but when its federal money they expended I get to be the bad guy calling our their crazy.

yes client, the fact that you billed for $x,xxx, received $x,xxx, but then revised your bills down to $xxx 7 months later, and after your operating year-end, means you have overbilled and now have questioned costs.
no you cant report your "actual costs" to the feds in your single audit reporting, that isnt how that works.
no you cant add a note explaining that you had actual expenses of $zz,zzz, the feds don't care.
