Yep. The Western states are agricultural. Same for the interior of São Paulo.

The NE states are poorer and generally respond well to Lula, even if they are, in fact, religious and conservative. Lula's government was good for them, with the minimum income program.

The richer states, and the middle class in general, are blinded by the notion that only Lula is corrupt so that weighs in the S and SE states as well.
