The silence is overwhelming. I need some benign noise so I've started Critical Role campaign 3. I'm already at episode 6

I've just tried Door Dash for the first time. I've ordered fish and chips from a local restaurant. It arrived right when they said it would and the cod is good.

My mom has had me over at her house for the past three nights. I'm grateful for all her efforts and everything she does for me, but I was sort of relieved when she told me that unfortunately she and Bill (her boyfriend) had made plans to go to dinner in Boise with another couple prior to my tragedy. I told her I would be fine.

Eating old people food three nights in a row is a bit much. On Sunday, she told me that we would have steak . She wanted to know how I wanted mine cooked I said medium rare or medium would be just fine. She said "Oh Mark, I'm afraid I cooked yours too rare"

I stopped myself from laughing. There was just the barest hint of red in all the brown, but at least it was moist. She then said "Have half of mine. It is a filet". I mean I suppose it could have been half of a filet, but it looked like half a hockey puck with grill marks. What happened to the woman I knew 40 years ago? Or was this the way we ate our steaks in high school and I just don't remember it?

But I'm a very good kid and thanked her for all her kindness.

Bill has had me watch football with him the past three nights. He much prefers the college game to the pro. So Saturday night we watched Wyoming vs San Jose St which was about as good as it sounds. Sunday night watching Brady vs Mahomes, we were talking and I had to inform him that Odell Beckham was not the soccer player's son.

They mean very well and I am grateful for them. But I'm also grateful for fish and chips and Critical Role. I just thought I'd pop in and post something.
