Language gets borrowed and adapted all the time, and every single language does it, not just English.

And it's happening to English words thousands of times without us knowing it. It would silly and pedantic to demand that French people pronounce "weekend" in an English accent when speaking French. "Weekend" is now also a French word, that means the same thing as it does in English. Taco is now also an English word.
