I know there were more nuanced positions being discussed, but it couldn't rise above the rhetoric. It was like you either had to be for a wall across the entire border or you had to be for no wall at all.

So anyone trying to espouse an idea that there are parts of the border where a wall may make sense and other parts where other means would be more effective was muted.
