2 points for a win, regardless of how. 1 point for an OT or shootout loss. (yes, this part is stupid, we've tried to make them change it).
Goals and assists count equal in player scoring.
As far as scheduling, if you're playing outside your conference you're only going to play in that barn once a season. There's no such thing as a series (B2Bs are also ... bad... for on-ice. You let teams cool off before playing each other again)
