I have a client who has two websites that were built for her by another advertising agency.
That agency used another company for hosting and domain purchase.
As it happens, the agency was just one guy, and he has disappeared. My client tried to fedex him a letter requesting he turn over username/password etc. for her site, and he refused to accept the letter from them. He is located in California.
The company he used for hosting/domain purchase is saying they might be able to turn over the info to her if she can prove she owns the businesses and websites. She has sent this documentation. They said they would respond in one to three weeks. It is past the three week mark and they have NOT responded and they do not respond when she contacts them. (They are located in Pennsylvania.)
What if any legal recourse does she have? She has a contract with the agency and her business licenses for both companies she owns. She is located in West Palm Beach FL.
Just looking for any thoughts before I call some folks on her behalf.
