Sen. Johnson? He's been the Republican all over the news on this topic. And there is no privatization plan (that I've seen anyway).

He proposes to make Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and apparently all other benefit programs -- except for those run through the Defense Department -- annually renewable. Meaning, if Congress and the President didn't vote to continue the programs, they would stop.
