I've tried (unsuccessfully) to argue with friends that we should do away with time zones using the example of China. It's just numbers, you'd eventually get used to getting up at an arbitrary 2AM, going to work at 5AM and leaving at 3PM or whatever the numbers turned out to be for where you were on the globe.
Ok...there's definitely parts of China that's whatever with your fancy time, we just live by the sun rising and setting but still....
Barely related: f*ck India with their arbitrary half hour offset from the entire rest of the world time zones.
You'd always know how much effort would got into watching an international sporting event.
They're just numbers! If we were actually to do it, I think it would take less than generation for the globe to fully adapt.
