Fundamentally, it's a brewery run under a cooperative governance model. That means we can do fun, community-oriented stuff that we like.

The winner of each homebrew competition works with the head brewer to brew a 7 barrel version of their 5 gallon homebrew recipe. You'll see their names and member numbers on the taplist for a few beers at any given time.
Member-volunteers literally built the brewery, including the bar, the tables, the murals and decorations, the walk-in cooler, and much of the brewing equipment (at least in terms of installation). Some members did make (and still maintain) the keg cleaning machine).
We regularly do pint night fundraisers for community organizations. We have a run club, trivia night, etc.
Liquor laws require paid staff for brewing and serving beer, but those people are all super cool, too.
