press box, owner's box, sometimes in the stands somewhere. they don't necessarily have to be at the game but they almost always are.

you can have 23 guys on the active roster, and dress 18 skaters and 2 goalies for any given game. only players on the 20-man list can play. healthy scratches can't join mid-game, except maybe arguably a goalie.
if both your goalies are injured, the rule is you can dress anyone available, so if you had a goalie as a healthy scratch, I guess he could theoretically dress and play? there's also emergency backup goalies - guys with day jobs who played goal at some point in the past who are on call in case a team loses both their goalies. they're available to both teams, so if the visitor loses both the emergency backup is there for them too. I don't know if the emergency backup or the healthy scratch would take precedence. I imagine you could choose, but I'm not aware of it ever happening.
