Thomas Paine didn't live in a world where troll farms in indigent countries can make people rich by lying to other societies.

Yes, there are dumbasses who put their names to things. But there are massive numbers of examples of people who got caught and faced accountability for those things as well. That wouldn't have happened if they'd remained secret.
