To Bery's point, there are plenty of murderous people who would are proud to identify online. It's content, not the name.

And there are plenty of people who get killed by those people because they express themselves in public, where forced identification would only help stalkers. Anonymity online saves lives.

Microsoft is literally telling us to obscure our identities online a safety measure.
