Wiring looms can not be crafted and many of the 'broken' components you'll find on that ship you're chasing after will need them before they can be fixed

also, now that I think about it, you'll run into problems because usually at least 1 broken component needs cadmium to be fixed and you can't get that without buying a cadmium drive upgrade for your hyperdrive
