A party including the prince travelling via airship disappears on its way back to the capital. Months of searching has turned up no trace. A year or so later, a nearly dead survivor of that trip shows up in a remote outpost of the kingdom. He relates that a massive storm blew the airship off course. They crashed in the vast trackless mountains far to the north. They were then subsequently captured by a group of wild giant hominids.
Meanwhile the nation to the southeast, the kingdom's fiercest rivals, having sensed a weakness in the kingdom without its dynastic heir there, is making threatening gestures.
The king needs to keep his military close. Thus he needs an independent group of adventurers to go into the wild and rescue the prince.
Meanwhile, at a tavern, a young wood elf with bow and arrow wanders in seeking accommodation. He sees ....
