Thinking of the snack/sandwich thread on B2. How many had Grandmas that kept a crock beside the stove for the grease (drippings) from the roast, etc.?

Dig down to the bottom of that where the gravy settles and spread it on bread. Almost as good as Vegemite :)

Mine did, but that was for cooking. The goose or duck grease at the holidays was for slathering on good rye or pumpernickel. -- nm
