In response to "Star Wars was never intended to be for adults" by hollywood big shot

I find that hard to believe given that they didn't bring out the ewoks until the third movie.

Luke finds his aunt and uncle's burnt corpses. His evil father kills his mentor, tortures his friends, assaults him to the point of cutting off his hand, and then asks him to join in the family business of oppression. The stars are all old enough to drive.

If you have to designate a couple robots as comic relief, you're not talking about a comedy. Where's the hint of Brad Bird level 'for kids' element in all of that?
