But yes, my grade school was at the point of entry to my subdivision and I (as well as my sister) would walk all the time. Maybe half a mile.

I know my sister even came home every day at lunch to see me when I was a baby.

In the 1960's (Winnipeg) we had to walk through 4-foot snowdrifts 3 miles to school, barefoot. It was uphill both ways. -- nm - mud Nov 16, 11:40 2
