I'm interested in some level of formatting, such as markdown. But also, I need organization capabilities.

And having it use an open storage mechanism, e.g., a shared folder in Apple Cloud ...
but most of all, I am wracking my brain for the name of an opensource option I heard about a while back, and it is NOT coming to me.
