I should have said part of the plot, the overall theme was what I got from the trailer - I posted about it and how I thought it looked good awhile ago.

about the bombing, I read that it didn’t test well this summer, and there was thought to possibly hold it; but it was decided to push through. I also saw that there’s possibly a record low cinemascore for a disney studios film/that critics are apparently liking it more than consumers. you don’t think that twist and the related pain of it had an impact on people thinking they were going to a feel good family film?

edited to add, I think you think the overall family story was more forward. so why do you think it did so poorly?
