Today is the day that Magic 30th Anniversary packs are on sale. $1,000 for 4 randomized packs of non-legal cards, reprints from 1994.

Regardless of what happens, Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro will call it a massive success. People will try to buy and flip immediately. The secondary market will continue to tank. Proxies are now normalized, yet with the recent shuttering of a website designed to make printing them easier thanks to a Cease and Desist, it gets complicated in a hurry.

Meanwhile, the product release schedule goes full bore with multiple releases per month. The Standard format fails in-person tournaments. MagicCon looms in February as another heady dose of FOMO greed. Arena sells straight up wildcards. And Uzra is reimagined as some kind of hero.

Doooooooom!
