Harassment incident on Post
I want to update you on an incident we just had. A Post member began harassing another member in the comment section. We have made it clear that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and we mean it.
What did we do?
>As soon as we received the flags from users and the comment system alerts, we went in and assessed the situation
>We immediately took down several of the Posts and notified the user in the comments that this is not acceptable.
>Before we could continue, the user deleted the other posts and sent in an apology, promising to never do this again.
>The user is being warned officially that such activity will get them banned from Post
I know people get heated in arguments but we cannot let that slip into harassment. I want to thank the users who flagged the event - this is exactly what we need to work together to remove such content and behavior.
As I said in this morning's post - content moderation tools are the biggest thing holding us back from opening wider. They include operations tools, blocking, muting, suspending users, removing privileges (such as posting), and a variety of tools. Our comment section is hosted by OpenWeb which provides us with these tools, this is why we could act quickly and we hope to have similar tools throughout the site.
