not an absolute right, but in certain circumstances for sure. consumer protection, advertising, ingredient labelling, pharmaceuticals.

probably lots of other things I'm not thinking about. there's probably a solid expectation that a democratic government won't lie to you about non-state secret things if you're not a conspiracy nut, but that's not really a right.
