The decline of Sears makes me sad. Christmas for my childhood was all about the Sears Christmas Catalog.

We used to make our Christmas lists by marking the page and item number. That's right - Christmas was materialism, get upset about that!
Sears used to sell *homes* by catalog. It deserves at least to live on in a museum.

I see Eddie Lampert still owns the company and continues to run it into the group.

see, that's not nearly as fun to me. You had to REALLY think through your choices in the catalogue. You had to decide what you REALLY REALLY wanted. -- nm

Plus, the Sears catalog was THE authority. As in, nowhere else to look. At least not with as good of options. -- nm
