their 3 best wins are over 8-4 teams.

TCU beat a 9&3 team and beat the 1 common opponent (Texas) by more than Alabama did.

Hell, if you need to elevate a 2nd SEC team, Tennessee is better choice than Bama. They beat them head to head and also had a curb-stomping of LSU that also beat Bama.
