There’s a distinct streak of hipsterism in music criticism. If it’s popular, it sucks, but in a few cases something is so popular then it works it’s way back around to good. -- (edited)

Saw a retweet of someone’s top 50 songs of 2022 or some such and I’d heard of two I think? I would wager money that if those same songs were the 50 biggest hits of the year, hardly any of them would make that same list. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with liking hit songs.
