She can't sign a deal while still under contract with WWE, which seems to be the case. That's also why AEW isn't commenting, at least in part. They won't comment about someone under contract elsewhere.

She apparently really wants to wrestle in Japan. If she has an agreement and then backs out to stay with WWE she'll probably never get to do that.
