Based on his own finding out, his logic was flawed anyway.

If everything went fine with his try-it-and-solve-the-fuckups approach, if it didn't utterly destroy any semblance of trust in the company, he'd still only arrive right back at where he started - having rediscovered and reimplemented everything from first principles FOR NO FUCKING REASON.
