In response to "Pelosi did an amateur blunder when she introduced Zelensky...she called him the president of THE Ukraine" by Jingle Bells, Zeitgeist Kvells, posting allll day

So many people say "the Ukraine" as I think it just flows better when you're speaking and it's not meant as an insult. It doesn't sound right to say

"I visited Ukraine last year" while "I visited the Ukraine last year" sounds more pleasing to the ear for English speakers. Just my guess as to why it seems many English speakers use the before Ukraine.
