Unrelated to the war in Ukraine, it’s apparently been in dry dock in Murmansk since 2018, and is expected to return to service in 2024.

Oh definitely. Aircraft carriers, FWIW, are rare outside the US Navy. *GOOD* ones are even rarer. 26 globally. 11 are USN.

There just aren't a ton of aircraft carriers anywhere - the US only has around 10. Most of the Russian navy is made up of much smaller ships -- nm
