Chase, Waddle, Sewell, Horn, Surtain, DeVonta Smith, Parsons, and Slater were the first position players to go.

Parsons is legitimately the only one of them whose play has exceeded expectations. All the rest were were can't miss prospects. The only reason why people don't know Horn better is because he got injured.
But the larger point here is that it was the worst possible year to waste that much draft capital by trading up. If the Jets have it to do all over again, they milk the 49ers and wind up one of those players plus future picks.
