Grandma with Alzheimer's had to be reminded of their new name (Jamie) a couple times as expected). It probably helped that my daughter dated a trans man for 4 years through high school/college before. It was very sweet that Jamie texted my daughter ahead of time (so we had warning also) because it was my daughter's birthday on the 27th and they didn't want her birthday to be overshadowed.
