When I had an office job (client services), we would get a half hour. I would use that for a power nap in my car. I would actually eat at my desk

"on the clock", usually before my actual lunch break. This was the last 3 years or so. Before that we got an hour and I'd often go out. Lunch was not paid so it made for an 8 1/2 or 9 hour day actual work day.
I was always non-exempt so lunch was mandatory and anything over 8 hours was overtime.
