Honestly I didn't want to like him (he went to Ohio State). He has significantly improved in a short period. This was a bad bears team (hence the #1

pick), but they were actually in most of these games. He's still learning for sure (one analyst made a point of noting that he's actually started far fewer games at this stage of his career (including high school and college) than most quarterbacks), but if you're watching the games, and not just metrics, you see improvement. QB's are really hard to find. This one is worth giving a shot when you're about to have a lot of draft picks and salary cap. If he doesn't continue to improve in a year or two you think about moving on, but taking another gamble doesn't make sense here.
