do one of those). The Golden Circle tour is a great way to hit some highlights - easy, covers geysers, waterfalls, Thingvellir.

Eat a hot dog, go to the pubs, for a local experience go to a local swimming pool - they have thermal pools, sauna, some are like waterparks even.
Everything is thermal powered.
