Interesting presentation tonight. A local tribal member and activist speaking on her emotional journey monitoring construction on a

local housing development and dealing with the many burials on the site. And how the archaeological discipline has changed in recent years.

Something she mentioned that I'd heard before was that up until the 1900's our society did not accept native people as members or speakers!

She was asked if homebuyers in the development were notified it was a sacred burial ground and she said it was in the contract and that many Asian people had decided not to buy there. They have a similar respect for the ancestors as our native people.
