I don't think that's right. This is about games made using the DnD system.

Movie/TV licensing of products are a separate thing, and I'm relatively sure Netflix paid for the rights to use DnD in the show.
Considering there's an official DnD Stranger Things Hasbro starter set, I think the companies have already worked out their IP issues.
