My BIL was one of those people. He ended up with a decent tattoo that he likes but that's not often the case.

I wouldn't do it. I want a few more tattoos but I know what I want and I'll go to someone that specializes in the styles I'm interested in for each one.
People are crazy with getting anything that the artist chooses.
