I know some folks laid off of Google. Company just cut access, sent an email on to their personal email saying they'd been let go.

No warning, nothing telling them they were in the pool. Some of these were long term (like, a decade) high performers, so not sure the reasoning there.

yah. i get for security reasons you have to cut quickly, but not even giving people a bit of heads is rough.
